Our Commitment: We are committed to protecting your privacy. Your personal information is never shared with writers. Writers only ever see your order number. Only platform administrators can access your contact details.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you use ScholarConnect:
- Account information: Name, email address, and hashed password
- Order information: Assignment details, academic level, deadline, subject, and instructions
- Payment information: Payment method type and transaction reference (we do not store full card numbers)
- Communication data: Messages sent through our platform messaging system
- Technical data: IP address, login timestamps, browser type, and session duration (for security purposes)
- Consent records: Timestamp of when you agreed to our Terms and Privacy Policy
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information for the following purposes:
- To create and manage your account
- To process orders and payments
- To facilitate anonymous communication between clients and writers
- To send transactional emails (order confirmation, assignment notifications, payment receipts)
- To send occasional platform updates and promotional communications (you may opt out at any time)
- To detect and prevent fraud, unauthorized access, and prohibited conduct
- To comply with legal obligations
- To improve our Platform and user experience
3. Identity Protection & Anonymity
ScholarConnect implements strict anonymity measures:
- Writers never see client personal information. Your name, email, phone number, and any other personal details are never displayed to writers under any circumstances.
- All orders are identified by unique order numbers (e.g., ORD-XXXXXX) in all writer-facing communications.
- Our messaging system automatically scans and blocks any message attempting to share personal contact information.
- Blocked contact-sharing attempts are logged and reviewed by administrators.
- Client personal information is accessible only to ScholarConnect administrators for platform management purposes.
4. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- Payment processors: Stripe (card payments) processes payment data under their own privacy policy. PayPal processes PayPal transactions under their policy.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.
- Business transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, user data may be transferred with appropriate notice.
We never share your information with writers, other clients, or unrelated third parties.
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information:
- All passwords are hashed using strong cryptographic algorithms before storage
- Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is mandatory for all accounts
- Sessions expire after 1 hour of inactivity
- All communications are transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS)
- All uploaded files are scanned for viruses before processing
- IP addresses and login activity are logged for security monitoring
- Administrator access to sensitive data is logged and audited
6. Cookies & Tracking
We use browser session storage to maintain your login session. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. We may use analytics tools to understand how users interact with our Platform to improve the experience.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Upon account deletion:
- Order history is retained for 12 months for legal and financial compliance
- Payment records are retained for 7 years for tax compliance
- Personal profile information is deleted within 30 days
- You may request earlier deletion by contacting writerhub97@gmail.com
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")

- Objection: Object to processing of your data for marketing purposes
- Withdrawal of consent: Withdraw consent for email communications at any time

9. Children's Privacy
ScholarConnect is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
